Seqera Finds tinybios to Advance Science for Everyone – Now with GenAI! | Healthcare IT Today

We’re excited to announce that Seqera is partnering with tinybio, a NYC-based tech startup known for its integrated AI-powered tools focused on pipeline execution and natural language analytics. We are happy to welcome the tinybio team and community to the Seqera family.

Empowering All Scientists with Advanced Information Tools

Scientists spend most of their time editing and organizing data for analysis. In fact, a case study of the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted how issues of data analysis and study design can greatly affect scientific progress. As biological data grows exponentially, there is an urgent need to rapidly manage large data sets for rapid scientific evaluations. To achieve this, we are partnering with tinybio to harness the power of GenAI, lowering the barrier for scientists to use advanced computing tools to achieve their research goals.

tinybio: Special ChatGPT for Researchers

Inspired by the challenges researchers face with different bioinformatics packages, Sasha and Vishal founded tinybio in 2022, convinced that there had to be a better, easier way to get started with bioinformatics. The initial goal of tinybio was to remove the barrier to entry for running bioinformatics packages, a mission that was greatly enhanced with the announcement of ChatGPT in November 2022. The co-founders of tinybio realized the potential of using GenAI to empower all scientists to use properly. bioinformatics tools, regardless of their experience or research background. Since then, tinybio has focused on using GenAI to drive bioinformatics technology.

“After seeing incredible performance with our conversation-based pipeline and analysis tool, Vishal and I knew we needed to partner with a leader in bioinformatics pipelines to help our vision for bioinformatics. more open and inject millions more into computational biology. We’re really excited to join the Seqera team and contribute to advancing science for everyone with their Nextflow, Wave, MultiQC and Fusion products,” said Sasha. Dagayev, Co-Founder at tinybio.

Tinybio’s realistic and practical approach to using LLMs for bioinformatics is critical to bridging the gap between scientists and advanced computing capabilities to accelerate scientific discovery. By incorporating this technology, we aim to significantly improve our existing pipelines, containers, and network resources, making high-quality, reproducible bioinformatics tools accessible to researchers worldwide. Our mission is to empower the global scientific community with the tools they need to drive innovation and advance our understanding of complex biological systems.

A New Era of AI-Enabled Bioinformatics

The landscape of biotech and bioinformatics is changing rapidly, driven by technological advances in AI. The ability to analyze large data sets, identify patterns, and generate predictive models is revolutionizing scientific research. We also believe that AI is a powerful tool to democratize and expand access to advanced bioinformatics tools abroad. By using human-centered AI, we can 10x help scientists translate complex biological data into actionable insights, thereby accelerating scientific discovery and innovation.

Our partnership with tinybio represents an important step in our journey to advance technology for everyone through software. This collaboration will lower the barrier to entry for a wide range of researchers to use bioinformatics tools effectively, drive innovation, and change the future of genomics.

“New forms of collaboration with powerful computing platforms are changing not only the way scientists work but also what they discover. By empowering scientists with modern software engineering techniques , we are enabling the next generation of personalized therapies, sustainable materials, improved drug delivery, and green chemical production and agriculture. This recognition marks a milestone for to accelerate scientific discoveries and help researchers with better software,” said Evan Floden, CEO Seqera.

Our Open Science Core development

Our mission at Seqera is to make science accessible to everyone through software. As research increases, there is an important need to access all available scientific research to make informed R&D decisions and accelerate the impact on patients. Central to achieving this is Open Science, which ensures reproducibility, validation, and transparency across the scientific community. With AI, we want to continue to improve our Open Science foundation, by lowering the barrier to adoption of bioinformatics tools for millions more researchers worldwide, driving rapid progress in science and medicine.

What’s Next for Seqera and tinybio?

Seqera is excited to work closely with tinybio’s founders, Sasha Dagayev and Vishal Patel to further their mission to advance science for everyone through software. Their expertise will greatly help advance the development of the core community tools at Seqera.io, empowering scientists around the world to develop modern software capabilities as needed.

We will first focus on using AI to solve the cold start problem for the next generation of scientists and remove barriers to entry into bioinformatics. Existing powerful architectures and tools, such as Nextflow, nf-core, and Seqera Pipelines and Containers, have greatly improved the research productivity of bioinformatics professionals, but they come with a steep learning curve that prevents beginners from getting started. quickly.

We want to free the next generation of scientists to waste time in creating different bioinformatics packages and infrastructure. We believe that future scientists should focus on understanding the “what” and “why” of their research, while the “how” is presented for them in an understandable and proven way. Our apps and tools provide the already powerful restrictions to do this, and we can’t wait to bring these new tools to users in the coming months. Stay tuned!
